They are an excellent pod to enhance the look of any natural Terrarium  Vivarium or aquarium 

Monkey pods can be used as food dishes for reptiles a natural hide for arachnids or a tadpole deposit sight for dart frogs and make great decor in the aquarium 

They allso provide a visual pop to the forest floor Due to their porous, dense nature these pods are great for springtails

Botanicals are not just great for tannin your water they have fantastic health benifits such as they have antibacterial propertys stress relieving antifungal propertys aid in breeding natural food source and natural hiding places

Botanicals can be added straight away into your aquarium where they will float for a while or until they sink to the bottom
To speed up this process you can boil the botanicals for a couple of minutes.
Over time the botanicals will slowly degrade and can remain in your aquarium
